A whole home renovation is the most comprehensive project a homeowner can undertake — and the most rewarding when it’s done right. At Mitchell Woodwork & Remodeling, we specialize in full-scale home renovations that transform every room of your home into a cohesive, functional, beautifully finished space. From structural work to finish carpentry, kitchen to master bath, flooring to custom millwork — we manage every phase under one licensed general contractor, with no coordination burden on you.
We’ve completed full home remodels across Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Leander, and the greater Austin area. Our clients include homeowners buying a dated house and transforming it before move-in, long-term residents ready to upgrade their forever home, and investors renovating for resale.
Every whole home remodel begins with a thorough discovery process. We walk every room with you, identify pain points and opportunities, discuss your lifestyle, family needs, and target budget. From that conversation, we build a master renovation plan — a room-by-room scope of work, a phased construction sequence, and a detailed cost breakdown. You approve everything in writing before we start.
Open-concept living is still the most requested whole-home upgrade in Central Texas. We remove walls, add structural beams, reinforce floor systems, create new openings for doors and windows, and add or reconfigure room layouts — all with proper engineering review when required and full Williamson County permitting.
Kitchen Renovation
The kitchen is always a centerpiece of any whole home remodel. Our in-house custom cabinet shop builds your kitchen cabinets. We handle countertop fabrication and installation, plumbing, electrical, flooring, backsplash, appliance installation, and all finishing details. One team. No subcontractor handoffs.
Bathroom Renovations
We remodel every bathroom in your home as part of the whole home scope — master bath, guest baths, and powder rooms. Custom vanities, new tile, updated plumbing and electrical, shower conversions, and full gut renovations are all in scope. Every bathroom is permitted and inspected.
We install hardwood, tile, luxury vinyl plank, and carpet throughout the home — including precise transitions between rooms and materials. We also refinish and repair existing hardwood floors as part of the whole home scope.
Older Round Rock homes often carry outdated electrical panels, insufficient outlets, aging plumbing supply lines, and improperly vented drain systems. A whole home renovation is the ideal time to address all of these — bringing your home’s systems up to current code and modern expectations. We coordinate licensed electricians and plumbers under our general contractor umbrella.
This is where a Mitchell whole home remodel stands apart. Because we’re both a remodeling contractor and a custom woodworking shop, we integrate custom millwork into the renovation at every level — crown molding, baseboards, wainscoting, built-in bookcases, custom closets, fireplace mantels, and architectural trim details — all consistent in style and craftsmanship from room to room.
Interior painting, exterior touch-ups, door hardware replacement, light fixture installation, window trim, and all final detail work. We don’t hand the baton to a separate painting crew — our team finishes what we start, so the quality stays consistent through the last coat of paint.
Whole home renovation costs vary enormously based on home size, condition, scope of structural work, and finish level. As a general framework for Round Rock homeowners:
These ranges are highly project-specific. We provide a detailed, room-by-room, line-item written estimate before any work begins. No ballparks. No surprises.

Matthias FelleisenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jeff's commitment to his work, as a human-to-human service to his customers, are unparalleled. I have worked with many contractors over the years on various houses, but Jeff is the best. I met with him once, for approximately 15-20 minutes and sketched out the various additions I wanted, including two large bookshelves for my study (see photo for one of them). After that, we communicated via text messages and phone calls. Jeff kept me posted about every step: measuring, spelling out my requirements, specifying the shelves via drawings (plus the electric outlets that come through), the selection of the wood, the choice of lacquer, all the way to the installation (which came with a short video). When I actually got back, the work was done and it was perfect. Don't bother to consider alternatives if you live north of Austin. Best ever! You can’t go wrong with these guys! Jeff is personal and a man of his word! Renee HaileyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My kitchen remodel was truly a one-of-a-kind. The cabinets, with inset doors, were made of hand-selected rift-sawn white oak. The wood is stained, and it’s so beautiful it grabs your attention. Building these cabinets required near perfect craftsmanship. There was very little room for error. The free-floating 3 inch thick, solid white oak shelving over the coffee/beverage bar was hand-hewn by Jeff Mitchell and installed using “invisible” steel rods to support these very heavy artistic wooden pieces. He embedded under counter lighting under each shelf. The results are so eye-catching that it summons you to the counter for a cup of coffee just to look at the wood. I highly recommend Jeff and his team to see your vision, and then plan your remodel. I remodeled Arts & Crafts homes of the 1940’s for 8 years. I have a very critical eye, and I’m hard to please. They want to be proud of their work, and they want to please you, too. If there was anything that I did not like, there was never an argument, and it was attended to immediately. Jeff will make it right, his attitude is “we want to make you happy!” He and Rocco are very creative, they love a challenge, and they have the “We can do that” attitude! These skilled craftsmen are absolutely a delight to have on the job. They keep you informed, they keep to the schedule, and they work hard. I was lucky to find them! Shay BainesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was a pleasure to work with Jeff & Robert on my built-in dining room buffet/bar project. Robert diligently worked on finding a stain color that would match existing cabinets. Jeff was great to bounce ideas off when looking for a solution for the shelves to hold significant weight. They had great communication, were punctual and cleaned up all project debris. We asked to push the install to the week after Thanksgiving, and they graciously agreed. We love how the project turned out, and have received many compliments; some saying it appears as if the house was built this way. Anna LaldinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I love my beautiful new sink installed by Mitchell Woodwork and Remodeling! They installed it quickly, did an excellent job, were easy to communicate with, and showed unmatched kindness every step of the way. HomeownerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jeff & his crew did a great job remodeling my entire home including cabinetry, flooring, lighting, baseboards, door frames, plumbing, granite countertops and removing a wall. I would definitely use them again. virginia calleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The Mitchell Woodwork and Remodeling team did a great job completely redoing two of our bathrooms. It was a huge project and they work tirelessly in our home even under very difficult circumstances! Our AC went out and they worked for two days in the heat! They cleaned up after themselves at the end of every work day and made every effort to make sure we were pleased with the final product. We now have two bathrooms that look absolutely gorgeous and we are so very thankful! We wish this company the absolute best in all their future endeavors and we hope you will give them an opportunity to work for you!
A cosmetic whole home renovation can complete in 4–8 weeks. A mid-level renovation including kitchen and bathrooms runs 10–16 weeks. A full gut renovation with structural changes can take 4–6 months. We provide a milestone timeline with your written estimate.
For full gut renovations, most clients do temporarily relocate — it’s safer, faster, and less stressful for everyone. For phased renovations where one section of the house is being worked on at a time, living in place is often feasible.
We don’t offer direct financing, but we can help you understand your options including home equity loans, HELOCs, and construction-to-perm loans. We’re happy to provide the detailed scope and cost breakdown your lender will need.
We operate as the licensed general contractor on all whole home projects. We bring in our own trusted licensed electricians and plumbers as needed, but we supervise, schedule, and quality-check all their work. You never have to coordinate with a separate trade.
This is where being a custom woodworking shop and a remodeling contractor at the same time makes a real difference. You get the same crown profile in every room, the same stain color on all cabinets and built-ins, the same hardware throughout — because we’re building it all.
